Do Over

Sometimes, you just need a do over.  A restart, if you will.    It is definitely what I need with Weight Watchers.  I am officially up two of the 15 pounds I was down.  There is nothing out of my control that I can blame it on.  I got off plan - off track.  I posted the WW meal planner insert on my fridge.  Looking at it will remind me what are some good meals to throw together when I don't have time to stick to my original plan.

At tonight's meeting we talked about being good to yourself.  Too often I get taken up in taking care of the rest of my family that I forget to take care of myself.  We talked about finding friends/family/support system to be the kind of support you need.  Maybe you need a straight shooter to tell you how it is, or perhaps you need the adventurer type to help break you out of a rut.  I really need to read the weekly magazine to get more out of it.  We ended up doing a lot of laughing during the meeting and not a lot of discussing.

Body Pump

I have been in a slump for quite a few weeks.  I am trying to figure out what I can do to get back on track with tracking.  I feel like I say this each week since I fell off.

Enough whining on that topic.

I was remiss last week in my update.  I lost some of the weight I gained the week before, but gained .2 this week.  SOOOOOO, it is even more important that I get back on track.  I am behind on my plan.

Last week we talked about plan B for fitting in activity.  For me, I don't consider it a plan B.  If I can't get my booty to the Y, I crank up the music in the kitchen and have a dance party.  I don't even think about it.  It just happens.  THen there is the keeping up with the yungins.

Today, we talked about adding color to your diet.  Our leader started the meeting with, "What do you think/feel when things are colorful?"  Members responded with "Cheerful" "Energized" "Grateful"...all very positive and healthy words.  The leader than turned it around and said, "What do you think adding color to your plate will do?"  It will make me feel energized, cheerful, healthy.  How about you?

We went on to talk about adding color to 3 different meals:
1. Eggs and Toast
2. Lunch meat on a hoagie roll
3. Steak and baked potato

The most common way to add color to any of these is broccoli...so think of other things you can add.
I like to put asparagus and/or diced tomatoes in my eggs.  I like cucumbers, spinach, red onion, and olives on my sandwiches.  Salsas are good on baked potatoes.

After WW I went to a new to me class at the Y.  I figure this is my best bet to get off the plateau.  It is called BodyPump.  It is an hour long class that uses a barbell/weights.   I hurt already.  TO give credit where credit is due...DH told me I needed to do strength training because I am literally working my butt off - seriously, there is less booty.  My pants are getting really baggy in the back,.

Anchors

So, I have been off track for several weeks.  Yes, I have been losing consistently week after week, but I have not been tracking :/  This week I gained 3 pounds.

Where did these 3 pounds come from?  Lack of planning, lack of tracking, not a lack of indulging.  Yesterday, was my birthday and I have been celebrating since Saturday. About three weeks ago I fell off the "track everything I eat" wagon and "plan meals in advance" wagon.

It is really hard to get back on track.  I have a friend who once told me, "It takes 21 days to create a habit and six to break it."  YIKES!  I broke my perfectly good habit.

Last night in Weight Watchers we talked about finding your anchor.  An anchor is something that grounds you to your goal.  It could be a picture, a mantra, an object, ecetera.  We were discussing different anchors other members use.  It dawned on me that my anchor is something that our leader said in one of the first meetings I attended.  She said that we all have made attempts to lose weight before.  She asked us to explore what has worked for us in the past.  This lead to "You ___ before; you can ____ again."  I tracked before; I will track again.  I was on track before; I will be on track again.  I lost weight on the plan; I will lose weight on the plan again.  I planned my meals; I will plan my meals again.
